Whereas, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Johnnie M. Bell, Jr., 49 Treacy Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, be and is hereby appointed Constable for a one year term commencing on January 5, 2012 and ending January 4, 2013, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas, lockout summonses and security.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council
