Whereas, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint 50 Constables.
 
Whereas, the Municipal Council wishes to amend Resolution 7R9-g 112211, appointment term from November 7, 2011 and ending on November 6, 2012 to November 28, 2011 and ending on November 28, 2012.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:  
 
1.      Heberto Anthony Canon, 474 Summer Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, be and he is hereby appointed Constable for a one year term commencing on November 28, 2011 and ending November 28, 2012, in accordance with his application to perform the duties of serving subpoenas, lockouts and court orders.
2.            Prior to enter upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council.
3.            The Municipal Council hereby ratifies its authorization of this resolution from November 28, 2011 through the date of adoption of this amending resolution.
