Whereas, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables.
Whereas, by Resolution 7R9-d, 011912, the Municipal Council appointed Anthony Garica a Constable; and
Whereas, the Municipal Council wishes to amend this appointment term to January 23, 2012 and ending January 22, 2013.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Anthony Garcia, 19 Highland Avenue, Newark, NJ, be and is hereby appointed a Constable for a one-year term, commencing January 23, 2012 and ending January 22, 2013, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council.
3. The Municipal Council hereby ratifies and authorizes this resolution from January 23, 2012 to the date of adoption.
