WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint fifty (50) Constables;
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2012, the Municipal Council appointed Johnnie M. Bell, Jr., of 49 Treacy Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07108 as a Constable, for the term of eleven (11) months and twelve (12) days; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council wishes to amend Resolution #7R9-a 020112, to change the appointment term from January 5, 2012 through January 4, 2013 to February 17, 2012 through January 31, 2013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of appointment of Johnnie M. Bell, Jr., of 49 Treacy Avenue, Newark New Jersey 07108, as a Constable is hereby amended, so that the term commences on February 17, 2012 and ends on January 31, 2013 and that Resolution #7R9-a 020112 is amended accordingly.
2. The Constable Bond provided by Johnnie M. Bell, Jr. is hereby approved as to form, amount and sufficiency by the Municipal Council.
3. The Municipal Council hereby ratifies its authorization of this resolution from February 17, 2012 through the date of adoption of this amending resolution.
