AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-1, STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING TREACY AVENUE AND ROSE TERRACE A STOP SIGN INTERSECTION.

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to improve safety at the intersection of Treacy Avenue and Rose Terrace by requiring drivers to stop on Treacy Avenue before entering the path of vehicles traveling on Rose Terrace in the South Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1.. That Section 23:15-1, Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Treacy Avenue and Rose Terrace with stop on Treacy Avenue
Section 2. Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance establishes the intersection of Treacy Avenue and Rose Terrace as a stop intersection with vehicles stopping on Treacy Avenue, in the South Ward.
