WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the Municipal Council are authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Oliver R. Mayson, 195 1st Street, Newark, New Jersey, be and he is hereby appointed as a Constable for a one year term, commencing on April 4, 2012 and ending April 3, 2013, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas, summonses, court orders and warrants.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty
(30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid
appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to
form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal
Council.
