AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-1, STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING ST. PAUL AVENUE AND CAMERON ROAD A STOP SIGN INTERSECTION.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals desires to improve safety at the intersection of St. Paul Avenue and Cameron Road in the West Ward by requiring drivers to stop on St. Paul Avenue before entering the path of vehicles traveling on Cameron Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:15-1, Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
St. Paul Avenue and Cameron Road with a stop on St. Paul Avenue
Section 2. Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT: This ordinance establishes the intersection of St. Paul Avenue and Cameron Road in the West Ward as a stop intersection with vehicles stopping on St. Paul Avenue.
