WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation (‘NJDOT’) State Aid to Counties and Municipalities FY2012 Municipal Aid Program (‘NJDOT Municipal Aid Program’), provides grant funding for the improvement and construction of local, municipal, and county road and bridge projects; and
WHEREAS, on September 14, 2011, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Engineering submitted an application to NJDOT requesting grant funding in the amount of $1,752,000.00 from the NJDOT Municipal Aid Program, for improvements to various streets (10 locations) within the City of Newark, identified as application MA-2012-Newark City-00405 with no Municipal funds required; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R4-a, adopted on October 5, 2011, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark ratified and authorized the actions taken by the Director of the Department of Engineering to submit an application for grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), for the NJDOT Municipal Aid Program for impr...
