Whereas, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CIT OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Derrick Wyhidi Smith, 88 Sandford Place, Newark, New Jersey, be and he is hereby appointed Constable for a one year term commencing on April 19, 2012 and ending April 18, 2013, in accordance with his application to serve court papers, subpoenas and repossessions.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council
