WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Kevin Aulton Peebles, 68 Van Ness Place, Newark, New Jersey 07112, be and he is hereby appointed Constable for a one (1) year term commencing on April 19, 2012 and ending on April 18, 2013 in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas and warrants.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council.
