WHEREAS, on August 23, 2011, the City of Newark through its Purchasing Director advertised to solicit bids for Maintenance & Repair, Vehicle Exhaust Systems, which the contractor will provide to the City of Newark, for the Department of Engineering, Division of Motors’ usage as described in the attached bid proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Central Purchasing solicited seven (7) prospective vendor (s) from its established bid list and; and
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2011, two (2) bids were received in response to this advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director reviewed and evaluated bids received and recommend that an award be made to B & S Tire & Service, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-24, the vendor agreed to hold their prices beyond 60 days; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 et seq., solicitations through public bidding in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq. meets the requirements of the fair and open process.
