AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-14e, PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY IN DESIGNATED RESIDENTIAL AREAS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING MARTENS AVENUE TO THE EXISTING PERMIT PARKING AREAS DESIGNATED LIST.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the residents of Martens Avenue have requested and submitted a petition for Permit Parking on the both sides of Martens Avenue between Tremont Avenue and the City Line, in the West Ward.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
      Section 1.  Section 23:5-14e, Parking by Permit Only in Designated Residential Areas, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented, by adding thereto the following:
 
Martens Avenue, both sides between Tremont Avenue and City Line
       (Hours:  10:00 PM to 6:00 AM  /  Days:  Monday-Sunday)
      
      Section 2.    Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
 
      Section 3.  Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
 
      Section 4.  This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
 
Section 5.  This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
 
 
      
STATEMENT
This ordinance allows parking by permit only on the both sides of Martens Avenue between Tremont Avenue and the City Line, in the West Ward.
