WHEREAS, Doctor Reverend Aurelio Barreto was a community activist and a leader amongst the residents of this great City; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Reverend Aurelio Barreto dedicated his life to the Lord as well as to his Church followers; and
WHEREAS, Doctor Reverend Aurelio Barreto is being remembered by the residents of this great metropolis for his humanitarian efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate his life by designating street signage in his honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT
1. It does hereby authorize the naming of the corner of Hemlock Street and Tiffany Boulevard as Dr. Rev. Aurelio Barreto Place, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The official names of said streets shall remain Henlock Street and Tiffany Boulevard in their entirety.
