WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Economic & Housing Development advertised for the receipt of bids for Contract 07-2012 [Demolition and Asbestos Abatement of Buildings J and K only of the former Orbis Site, 55 Virginia Street, Newark, New Jersey 07114] in accordance with the requirements of the Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. (the “LPCL”); and
WHEREAS, the bid documents issued by the City of Newark, Department of Economic & Housing Development for Contract 07-2012 [Demolition of the former Orbis Site, 55 Virginia Street, Newark, New Jersey 07114] advised all prospective bidders that the City could award a contract for the demolition and asbestos abatement of any or all of the buildings on the former Orbis site as well as for any or all of the alternates identified within the bid documents; and
WHEREAS, the bid advertisement required sealed bids to be submitted on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 by no later than 10:00 a.m. (the “Bid Opening Date”); and
