WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to 50 Constables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Michael Lewis, 151 Mapes Avenue, 2nd floor, Newark, New Jersey, be and he is hereby appointed Constable for a term from the date of adoption to the expiration of the bond, in accordance with his application to serve subpoenas, lockouts and warrants.
2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by Resolution of the Municipal Council.
STATEMENT
This resolution authorizes Michael Lewis to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a term from the date of adoption to the expiration of the bond.
