ORDINANCE REQUIRING LEGISLATIVELY CREATED ENTITIES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK AS STATUTORY AUTHORITIES OR NON-PROFIT CORPORATIONS TO SUBMIT ANY PROPOSED CHANGES/ AMENDMENTS TO CHARTERS/BY-LAWS TO THE CITY OF NEWARK ADMINISTRATION AND THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL

WHEREAS, the Newark Watershed Conservation and Development Corporation (NWCDC), Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC), Newark Performing Arts Corporation (Symphony Hall), and the Newark Parking Authority of the City of Newark are entities legislatively created by the City of Newark as either statutory authorities or non-profit corporations, to carry out various functions and/or duties on behalf of the City of Newark, and
 
WHEREAS each of these entities have charters and by-laws
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
In the event that any of the entities named herein intend to change or amend its charter or by-laws, it shall be required to submit any proposed changes/amendments to the City of Newark Administration and the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, and that in order for any changes/amendments to become effective they shall require prior review and approval by the Municipal Council by Ordinance or Resolution as law may provide.
 
 
      This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey
 
STATEMENT
 
      This Ordinance requires statutory authorities/non-profit corporations of the City of Newark to obtain prior review and approval of the City of Newark Administration and the Municipal Council before enacting any changes/amendments to its charters/by-laws
