WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services, Local Core Capacity for Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant enable LINCS agencies to continue upgrading city-wide local public health systems preparedness and response to terrorism and other public health threats and emergencies; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark desires to safe guard residents of the City from all hazard emergencies for the provision of local core capacity for public health preparedness; and

WHEREAS, on June 22, 2012, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Child and Family Well-Being submitted an application to the State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services, Local Core Capacity for Public Health Preparedness requesting grant funding in the amount of $320,926.00, for the provision of bioterrorism preparedness; and
