Whereas, Reverend C.F. Bonney, Sr. has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark are very proud of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas, Reverend C. F. Bonney, Sr. has devoted his time and effort and self-sacrifice to help build on the social, health and welfare along with the religious progress of this community; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Reverend C.F. Bonney, Sr. by designating street signage in his honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT
It does hereby authorize the naming the corner of South Orange Avenue and Ashland Street Rev. C. F. Bonney, Sr. Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
The names of said streets shall remain South Orange Avenue and Ashland Street in their entirety.
