WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R8-A, adopted on October 19, 2011, the Mayor and/or his designee, the Acting Deputy Director of Workforce Development One Stop Career Center/NewarkWORKS, were authorized to accept grant funds in the amount of $259,500.00 from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development in association with the Workforce Learning Link Program; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R1-Q, adopted on December 21, 2011, a budget insertion was established for the above-described grant funds; and
WHEREAS, there exists a need for the City of Newark, One Stop Career Center Newark Works (“NOSCC”), located at 990 Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102, to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide educational services to sixty-eight (68) Newark residents to assist them with learning basic educational skills including, but not limited to, learning to read, speak ...
