WHEREAS, a vacancy on the Newark Municipal Council was created by the resignation of Council Member Donald M. Payne, Jr.: and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:16-12 permits the remaining members to fill the vacancy created; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Municipal Council to fill the vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY:
It does hereby appoint Shanique Davis-Speight to the Municipal Council.
