WHEREAS, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation (NJDOT) provides funds for Local Safety Programs; and
WHEREAS, on March 9, 2012 the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) invited the City of Newark to submit proposals for the FY 2013 Local Safety and High Risk Rural Roads Program; and
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2012, the City of Newark, Department of Engineering, submitted an FY 2013 Local Safety Program Proposal for Broad Street and South Street Pedestrian Safety to the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), requesting grant funding in the amount of $500,000.00; and
WHEREAS, as a result of this request, the City of Newark was notified on December 4, 2012 by the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) that on September 24, 2012 the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) Board of Trustees had approved funding through th...
