WHEREAS, the Department of Child and Family Well-Being/WIC Program provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the participation in Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program; and

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services has made grant funds available for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC); and

WHEREAS, on September 7, 2012, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Child and Family Well-Being, submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, requesting grant funding in the amount of $1,584,000.00, for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services for Women, Infants, Children (WIC) Program; and
