WHEREAS, Senate Bill 767, if enacted, clarifies that an abstention vote by a public body does not signify either a "yes" or a "no" vote; and
WHEREAS, the passage of Senate Bill 767 would be in the best interest of the City of Newark.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, that it strongly supports passage of Senate Bill 767.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution are forwarded to the members of the New Jersey Legislature representing the City of Newark.
