WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120 et seq., the City of Newark is authorized to appoint up to fifty (50) Constables to establish the term for such appointment at one (1) or three (3) years; and

WHEREAS, the City if Newark wishes to implement the three (3) year option.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

1. Philip C. Seelinger, Jr., of 84 Main Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, be and is hereby appointed as a Constable, in accordance with his application to serve lockouts, repossessions, court papers and summonses.

2. Prior to entering upon the execution of his office and no later than thirty (30) days after effective date of the appointment, the aforesaid appointee shall submit a Constable Bond, which shall be approved as to form, amount and sufficiency of Surety by resolution of the Newark Municipal Council

3. This appointment shall be for a period of three (3) years from the date of the Constable Bond to its expiration, whichever occurs first.


Statement
This resolution authorizes Philip C. Seelinger, Jr., of 84 Main Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, to serve as a Constable in the City of Newark, New Jersey for a period of three (3) years from the date of the Constable Bond to its expiration, whichever occurs first.
