Purpose: Urging Appraisal Systems to continue to meet with Newark Property owners pass their announced deadline.

WHEREAS, the City of Newark has contracted with Appraisal Systems to prepare a revaluation of all property in the City; and
WHEREAS, Appraisal Systems has completed the revaluation and has begun a process of meeting with property owners to discuss the assessment of their property and where appropriate make adjustments; and
WHEREAS, Appraisal Systems has announced that this phase of the project will end on Friday, April 12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, many property owners have not had an opportunity to meet with the company to discuss their case.
NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
It does hereby urge and request that Appraisal Systems continue to meet with property owners until Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
