Whereas, the residents of Newark are proud of its businesses and owners that has been a part of the community for a long time; and
Whereas, the Caceres Hardware Store located at 683 Mt. Prospect Avenue is one of the many businesses that the community has come to appreciate; and
Whereas, Caceres Hardware Store has devoted its time and effort and self-sacrifice to help build on the social, health and welfare and political progress of this community; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Caceres Hardware Store by designating street signage in the honor of its owner Hilario Carlos Caceres for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
- Naming of Heller Parkway and Mt. Prospect Avenue as Hilario Carlos Caceres Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
- The names of said streets shall remain Mt. Prospect Avenue and Heller Parkway in their entirety.
