WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 7R1-a, adopted on March 17, 2010, the Municipal Council authorized the Mayor and/or his designee the Business Administrator to enter into and execute a Pass Through Agreement with Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC) in the amount of $693,384.00 for the purpose of implementing the Greater Newark Conservancy Visitors Bureau (GNCVB) for the period of two years beginning on July 1, 2009 and terminating on June 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the term of the above Pass Through Agreement has expired on June 30, 2011 and the Deputy Mayor/Director of the Department of Economic & Housing Development seeks authorization to enter into and execute a First Amended Sub-recipient Agreement to extend the term of the Pass Through Agreement from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011 to July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2013, to provide BCDC with additional time to implement the GNCVB.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
- The Mayor and/or his designees the Business Administrator and/or the Deputy Mayor/Director of the Department of Economic & Housing Development, is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a First Amended Pass Through Agreement with Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC), 744 Broad Street, Suite 1100, Newark, New Jersey 07102, to extend the term of the Pass Through Agreement from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011 to July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2013, to provide them with additional time to implement the Greater Newark Conservancy Visitors Bureau (GNCVB.)
- The First Amended Pass Through Agreement between the City of Newark and Brick City Development Corporation is hereby ratified from June 30, 2011 to the date of adoption of this authorizing resolution.
- No additional City funds are required for this First Amended Pass Through Agreement.
- Except as amended herein, all other terms and conditions approved under Resolution 7R1-a, adopted on March 17, 2010, shall remain in full force and effect.
- A copy of this Resolution and an executed copy of the First Amended Pass Through Agreement shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk.
