AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-2, PARKING PROHIBITED AT CERTAIN TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY PROHIBITING PARKING 8AM TO 5PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY ON PORTIONS OF HALSEY STREET.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering desires to restrict parking along portions of Halsey Street between Cedar Street and New Street for the new Prudential Buildings, in the Central Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-2, Parking Prohibited at Certain Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Halsey Street:
East side, beginning on the southerly curb line of New Street and extending 165ft. southerly therefrom, from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday.
Halsey Street:
East side, beginning on the northerly curb line of Cedar Street and extending 240ft. northerly therefrom, from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday.
Section 2. Any existing Ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This Ordinance prohibits vehicles from parking at the curbside space between posted signs bearing the legend "NO PARKING 8AM-5PM EXCEPT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY".
Section 5. This Ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
