Whereas, Katherine Clemons of the City of Newark, New Jersey has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark is very fond of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas Katherine Clemons, efforts and self-sacrifice helped to build on the Social, Health, Religious Welfare and Political Progress of this community; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Katherine Clemons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT, it does hereby authorize the naming Martin Luther King Blvd. and Crawford Street as Katherine Nanny Clemons Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
- Naming Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and Crawford Street as Katherine Nanny Clemons Plaza, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
- The names of said streets shall remain Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Crawford Street in their entirety.
