Whereas, Donald Wayne Franklin has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and his contributions to the Newark Pop Warner Football Program, and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark is very fond of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Donald Wayne Franklin in the community, by designating street signage in his honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT it does hereby authorize the naming of the corner of Mapes Avenue and Mapes Place as Donald Wayne Franklin Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of Mapes Avenue and Mapes Place as Donald Wayne Franklin Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Mapes Avenue and Mapes Place in their entirety.
