AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY PROHIBITING PARKING AT ALL TIMES ON PORTIONS OF AVENUE K.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering desires to revise Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, by adding No Parking Anytime restrictions on portions of Avenue K to accommodate trucks exiting several local businesses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Avenue K, east side, beginning 520 feet south of the southerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 155 feet southerly therefrom.
Avenue K, west side, beginning 555 feet south of the southerly curb line of Wilson Avenue and extending 120 feet southerly therefrom.
Section 2. Any existing ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT
This ordinance amends Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times by adding "No Parking Anytime" prohibitions on portions of Avenue K in the East Ward.
