WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7R4-B, adopted October 12, 2012, authorized the Director of the Department of Engineering to accept the bid proposal and execute Contract No. 06-2012PS, McClellan Street Underpass Roadway and Drainage Improvements Final Design, with Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc., 2 Gateway Center, 18th Floor, Suite 1803, Newark, New Jersey 07102, in an amount not to exceed $1,091,849.92; and
WHEREAS, the original contract term was 365 days from the issuance of a formal Notice to Proceed, which was issued on January 16, 2013, or January 16, 2013 through January 15, 2014; and
WHEREAS, as result of delays in acquiring the necessary design agreements from AMTRAK to allow the consultant to do any field investigations within AMTRAK Right-of-Way, which needs to be done before any design concepts to lower the McClellan Street profile can be developed, the Department of Engineering requires that the contract time be extended toFebruary 1, 2015; and
