WHEREAS, the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program's mission is to enhance regional preparedness in major metropolitan areas through direct assistance to participating jurisdictions in developing an integrated regional system for prevention, protection, response and recovery from terrorist events or natural catastrophes; and
WHEREAS, on December 2, 2013, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness issued a Grant Adjustment Notice to the FY 13 Urban Areas Security Initiative award letter of September 20, 2013 increasing the amount of the award to the City of Newark, by $12,500.00, bringing the total amount of the grant to $1.587,960.00 to fund the Communications Planner position (a copy of the award letter is attached hereto and made...
