WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $22,000.00 bringing total program resources to $487,780.00, for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2014 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and

WHEREAS, by award letter dated April 30, 2014, from the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, the City of Newark has been awarded an additional $22,000.00 for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program; and

WHEREAS, by authorizing Resolution 7R2-h dated December 4, 2013, the City of Newark accepted the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program in the amount of $465,780.00 from the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services to provide lead poison prevention services, community outreach and case ...
