Whereas, Madame Louise Scott-Rountree has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark are very fond of the accomplishments of this consummate public servant; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Madame Louise Scott-Rountree in the community, by designating street signage in her honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT it does hereby authorize the naming of the corner of Court Street and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard as Madame Louise Scott-Rountree Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of Court Street and Dr. Marin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard as Madame Louise Scott-Rountree Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Court Street and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in their entirety.
