AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-1, STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING VARIOUS LOCATIONS AS STOP SIGN INTERSECTIONS IN THE SOUTH WARD.

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to improve safety at various uncontrolled intersections in the South Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:15-1, Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
Hawthorne Place and Chadwick Avenue, with stop on Hawthorne Place
Chadwick Avenue and Custer Avenue, with stop on Chadwick Avenue
Woodland Avenue and South 14th Street, with stop on Woodland Avenue
Huntington Terrace and Lehigh Avenue, with stop on Huntington Terrace
Mapes Terrace and Huntington Terrace, with stop on Mapes Terrace
Mapes Place and Mapes Avenue, with stop on Mapes Place
Hobson Street and Dewey Street, with stop on Hobson Street
Hobson Street and Bragaw Avenue, with stop on Hobson Street
Hanford Street and Evergreen Avenue, with stop on Hanford Street
Wharton Street and Hanford Street, with stop on Wharton Street
Section 2. Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 4. This Ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.

This Ordinance establishes the stop intersections at various uncontrolled intersections in the South Ward.
