WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $12,500.00, for the Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant and no adequate provision has been made in the 2014 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by authorizing Resolution 7R1-q adopted May 20, 2014, the City of Newark accepted funds for the Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant from the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness in the amount of $1,587,960.00 which was increased from $1,575,460.00 from the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness for the prevention, protection, response and recovery from terrorist events or natural catastrophes, for the period commencing September 1, 2013 through Augus...
