, WHEREAS, on August 7, 2013 through Resolution 7R3-L , the Municipal Council of the City of Newark authorized the Mayor to accept the following Youth Workforce Investment Act funds pursuant to the WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT of 1998, PL 105-220, August 7, 1998 (hereinafter referred to as "WIA"); in the amount of $2,055,012.00; and
WHEREAS, there exists a need for NewarkWORKS to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide educational services to twenty-five (25) clients in the area of "Vocational GED" training pursuant to the provisions of the WIA for the 2013-2014 Program Year. (Program year is from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014); and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2013 NewarkWORKS advertised a Request for Proposal, returnable on October 8, 2013 for educational services and training under the provisions of the WIA for Program Year 2013-2014. (A copy of the Request for Proposal is attached hereto and made part thereof.); and ...
