WHEREAS, on August 7, 2013 through Resolution 7R3-L , the Municipal Council of the City of Newark authorized the Mayor to accept the following Youth Workforce Investment Act grant funds pursuant to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, PL 105-220, August 7, 1998 (hereinafter referred to as "WIA"); in the amount of $2,055,012.00; and
WHEREAS, there exists a need for NewarkWORKS to enter into contract with an entity that can provide educational services to thirty (30) clients in the areas of "Academic Enrichment" training pursuant to the provisions of the WIA for the 2013-2014 Program Year (July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014); and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2013 NewarkWORKS advertised a Request for Proposal, returnable on October 8, 2013 for the above-referenced educational and training services under the provisions of the WIA for the 2013-2014 Program Year, a copy of the Request for Proposal is attached ...
