WHEREAS, on August 7, 2013 through Resolution 7R3-L , the Municipal Council of the City of Newark authorized the Mayor to accept the following Youth Workforce Investment Act funds pursuant to the WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT OF 1998, PL 105-220, August 7, 1998 ("WIA"); in the amount of $2,055,012.00; and

WHEREAS, there exists a need for NewarkWORKS to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide educational services to fifty-five (55) clients in the areas of "Career Readiness" training pursuant to the provisions of the WIA for the 2013 - 2014 Program year. Grant funds must be fully expended by June 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, on September 13, 2013 NewarkWORKS advertised a Request for Proposal, returnable on October 8, 2013 for the above-referenced educational services and training under the provisions of the WIA for Program Year 2013-2014, a copy of the Request for Proposal is attached her...
