AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-1, STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING SEABURY STREET AND DELAVAN AVENUE A STOP SIGN INTERSECTION.

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to improve safety at the intersection of Seabury Street and Delavan Avenue by requiring drivers to stop on Seabury Street before entering the path of vehicles traveling on Delavan Avenue, in the North Ward.
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
      Section 1. Section 23:15-1, Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
 
Seabury Street and Delavan Avenue with stop on Seabury Street
      
      Section 2.  Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
 
      Section 3.   This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
 
Section 4.  This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
 
                              STATEMENT:  
 
 
      This ordinance establishes the intersection of Seabury Street before entering the path of vehicles traveling on Delavan Avenue, in the North Ward.
