WHEREAS, on July 15, 2014, the City of Newark through its Purchasing Director advertised to solicit bids for Meals Delivered Service for Prisoners, which the contractor will provide to the City of Newark, for the Police Department's usage, as described in the attached bid proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Central Purchasing also solicited sixteen (16) prospective vendor (s) from its established bid list, and
WHEREAS, on July 31, 2014, one (1) bid was received in response to this advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director concludes from review and evaluation that an award be made to William Graves trading as Classic Caterers/ Sandwich Den, the only responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-24, the vendor agreed to hold their prices beyond 60 days; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 et seq., solicitations through public bidding in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq. meets the requirements of the fair and open process.
