WHEREAS, on October 5, 2010, the City of Newark through its Purchasing Director advertised to solicit bids for Roofing Maintenance, Installation and Repairs for Public Buildings, which the contractor will provide to the City of Newark, for the Department of Engineering, Division of Public Buildings, usage as described in the attached bid proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Central Purchasing solicited eight (8) prospective vendor (s) from its established bid list following the date of advertisement; and
WHEREAS, on October 28, 2010, six (6) bids were received in response to this advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering, Division of Public Buildings, reviewed the bids; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director concludes from review and evaluation that an award be made to Afranko, Inc., 1 Webster Street, Irvington, New Jersey 07111, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-24, the vendor agreed to hold their prices beyond 60 days; and
