Whereas, Reverend Sumlar L. Foote has played a major role in the development of the East Kinney Street and East Kinney Place community, and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council will like to commemorate the progress that has been made under the spiritual guidance of Reverend Sumlar L. Foote by renaming the intersection of East Kinney Street and East Kinney Place in his honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT it does hereby authorize the renaming of the corner of East Kinney Street and East Kinney Place as Sumlar L. Foote Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of East Kinney Street and East Kinney Place as Reverend Sumlar L. Foote Way for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain East Kinney Street and East Kinney Place in their entirety.
