AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-5, TWO (2) HOUR PARKING FOR NONRESIDENTIAL VEHICLES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING M. PROSPECT AVENUE, BETWEEN HELLER PARKWAY AND VERONA AVENUE.

Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, wishes to limit parking to two (2) hours on both sides of Mt. Prospect Avenue, between Heller Parkway and Verona Avenue, for vehicles without a residential parking permit; and

WHEREAS, the parking limitation will increase and improve traffic flow and encourage parking space turnover for residents, visitors, businesses and customers.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

Section 1. That Section 23:5-5, Two (2) Hour Parking for Nonresidential Vehicles, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:

Mt. Prospect Avenue between Heller Parkway and Verona Avenue
Both sides, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday

Section 2. Any existing ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.

Section 4. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
