WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Community Wellness/WIC Program, provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the participation in Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program; and

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, has made grant funds available for the provision of a Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in the City of Newark; and

WHEREAS, on August 16, 2014, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million, Eight Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand, Three Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,824,333.00), for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services for Women, Infants and ...
