Whereas, Aristede Suarez, a business owner in Newark since 1960, was one of the Founders of the Puerto Rican Day Parade and a member of the Black and Puerto Rican Coalition.
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council will like to commemorate his achievements by renaming the intersection of Park Avenue and North Fifth Street in his honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY,THAT it does hereby authorize the renaming of the corner of Park Avenue and North Fifth Street to Aristede Suarez Boulevard for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of the corner of Park Avenue and North Fifth Street as Aristede Suarez Boulevard for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Park Avenue and North Fifth Street in their entirety.
