Whereas, on September 4, 2014 through Resolution 7R3-G , the Municipal Council authorized the Mayor to accept the following Youth ($2,188,463), Adult And Dislocated Worker ($3,102,315) Workforce Investment Act grant funds pursuant to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, PL 105-220, August 7, 1998, 112 Stat 936 (hereinafter referred to as "WIA") for a combined funding total of $5,290,778.00; and

WHEREAS, there exists a need for NewarkWORKS to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide educational services to fifty (50) youth clients in the areas of "Vocational and High School Equivalency" training pursuant to the provisions of the WIA for the 2014-2015 Program Year July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, on September 13, 2014 NewarkWORKS advertised a Request for Proposal, returnable on October 8, 2014 for educational and training services under the provisions of the WIA for Program Year 2014-2015 (a copy of the Request for Proposal is attached hereto and made part thereof); and
