WHEREAS, the Municipal Council of the City of Newark adopted Resolution 7R1-K on January 7, 2015 (the "Resolution"), which authorized the Mayor and/or his designee, the Assistant Business Administrator, to submit a One-Year Action Plan with Substantial Amendment with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") for Program Year 2014 (September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015), and further ratified and authorized the execution of the grant agreements necessary to receive certain grant funds, and further authorized the acceptance of those grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the Resolution indicated that the amounts of the grant funds were $6,569,453.00 from the Community Development Block Grant Program, $1,853,743.00 from the HOME Investment Partnership Program ("HOME"), $548,578.00 from the Emergency Solutions Grant Program and $6,473,182.00 from the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program, for total grant funds in the amount of $15,444,956.00; and
WHEREAS, the figure in the Resolution for the amount of HOME grant funds was incorrect; and
WHEREAS, the correct figure for the amount of the HOME grant award is $1,466,755.97, thereby making the correct figure for the total amount of grant funds $15,057,968.97; and
WHEREAS, the Business Administrator recommends that Resolution 7R1-K, adopted on January 7, 2015, be amended in order to correct the figure for the amount of the HOME grant award, and also to correct the figure for the total amount of grant funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. Resolution 7R1-K, adopted on January 7, 2015, is hereby amended as follows:
a. in the eighth "WHEREAS" clause and in Paragraph 1, the figures for the amount of the HOME grant award are hereby changed from $1,853,743.00 to $1,466,755.97, and the figures for the total amount of grant awards are hereby changed from $15,444,956.00 to $15,057,968.97; and
b. in Paragraph 3, the figure for the total amount of grant awards is hereby changed from $15,444,956.00 to $15,057,968.97.
STATEMENT
This resolution corrects an error in Resolution 7R1-K, adopted on January 7, 2015, by changing the figure for the amount of HOME grant funds from $1,853,743.00 to $1,466,755.97, and by changing the figure for the total amount of grant funds from $15,444,956.00 to $15,057,968.97.
