AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:15-1, STOP INTERSECTIONS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY DESIGNATING PLYMOUTH STREET AND SOUTH MUNN AVENUE A STOP SIGN INTERSECTION

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to improve safety at the intersection of Plymouth Street and South Munn Avenue by requiring drivers to stop on Plymouth Street before entering the path of vehicles traveling on South Munn Avenue, in the West Ward.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

                     Section 1.  That Section 23:15-1, Stop Intersections, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:

 

                     Plymouth Street and South Munn Avenue with stop on Plymouth Street

                     

                     Section 2.  Any ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

                     Section 3.   This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.

 

Section 4.  This ordinance does not require approval by the New Jersey State Department of Transportation.

 

STATEMENT

This ordinance establishes the intersection of Plymouth Street and South Munn Avenue as a stop intersection with vehicles stopping on Plymouth Street, in the West Ward.
